Need something to do with your kids for this 4th of July week? Whether you’re off with the kids for the summer, for a long weekend, or just for the typical weekend, you can take them to any one of these activities and they’ll surely love it!
1. San Diego Zoo (Balboa Park)
The world-famous San Diego Zoo has lots of things to do for kids in itself. It houses over 3,700 rare and endangered animals, as well as a beautiful display of over 700,000 exotic plants across 100 acres. You can just walk around and enjoy the exhibits or keep an eye out for kid-themed events happening on weekends.
2. LEGOLAND California (Carlsbad)
With the success of the LEGO Movie, LEGO Batman, and more, LEGOLAND California is a great choice for the kids. It has the largest selection of LEGOs in the nation at The Big Shop, as well as the entire resort:

3. Aquatica Water Park (Chula Vista)

4. Belmont Park (Mission Beach)
The seaside amusement park of San Diego is the perfect adventure for a half-day. The historic roller coaster, an arcade, many rides, ice cream, zip line, laser tag, and more brings fun for everyone. Located right on the beach, its also home to some pretty good restaurants to eat once you’re done.
5. Old Town San Diego
Old Town is a fun place to run around. On top of the variety of shops and restaurants, there is a great park and many historic sites. The Whaley House is a haunted house, the Seeley Stables is an old stagecoach shop, and the Serra Museum showcases the Kumeyaay Indians Spanish and Mexican exhibits of San Diego History. Filled with even more history, the Old Town often has mariachis and people dressed in different costumes from different time periods for entertainment.
