You still have until the end of the month to take advantage of the Federal Government’s tax break for new home buyers! With several homes in Encinitas and homes in Carlsbad available, home buyers in North County now have the opportunity to put a couple thousand dollars towards expensive moving costs, new furniture for your home, or just cash in your pockets!
Here’s the deal with the tax credit for home buyers: new first time home buyers can qualify for a tax rebate on a home bought on or before April 30, 2010 of up to 10% of the purchase price. You can get up to $8,000 with this rebate for new home owners!
Even current existing homeowners can qualify for a tax credit of up to $6,500 as long as you have been in your current house for at least 5 years. That means you can buy another Encinitas home or Carlsbad home and keep your exisiting home to rent out for additional income!
The Federal Government is hoping that by extending the Home Buyer’s Tax Credit until April 30, 2010, more people will take advantage of the tax credit and buy a home, thus stimulating the housing market in our country. You need to buy the home and have a contract signed before April 30th, and then you will have 60 days for the financing to close.
