As a resident of Encinitas for over 30 years I know that Encinitas has so much to offer. Here is a look at a few of the weekend events in Encinitas for 4/12/13.
Surfing in Encinitas
Encinitas is known for some of the best surf spots in the world and Encinitas Patch has provided a list of the 5 Best Surf Spots in San Diego County. These include great spots for experienced surfers (such as Swami’s) and beginners as well (spots like Sunset Cliffs and Trestles).
If you are looking for a way to unwind after a long work week, catching a few waves or just enjoying the marine life at spots like Black’s Beach are a great way to shake off a long week and relax.
Jazz in Carlsbad
If you are a fan of jazz, the Coastal Cities Jazz Band will be performing a tribute to Doc Severinsen on April 14th at 2pm at the Carlsbad Community Church. The tribute will feature the music and arrangements of Doc Severinsen, who led the Tonight Show Band from 1957 to 1992, when Johnny Carson retired.
Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Willie Murillo will be featured during the performance.
Oleanna in Encinitas
The Intrepid Shakespeare Company will present their performance of the David Mamet play Oleanna throughout the weekend including Friday at 8pm and matinee and evening performances on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are between $25 and $35 and the performance will be at the San Dieguito Academy on 800 Sante Fe Drive.
