When you are selling your home, you want it to look it’s best! Potential buyers will often judge your home based upon the quality of your staging. Home staging is meant to highlight your home’s most impressive features and hopefully entice a buyer into sealing the deal.
Here are some tips to consider when you are staging your home:
1. Stage Where It Matters: You will not need to stage every room of your house. While you can, it can often be unrealistic if you are living there, or you have children. The rooms that are the most important to stage are the living room, master bedroom, and kitchen.
2. Make Sure the Clutter is Gone: If there is too much clutter in your home, a buyer may have trouble visualizing themselves living there. Clutter can also make your home seem smaller than it actually is! Utilize the space you have by getting rid of clutter.
3. Get Rid of Personal Items: While your wedding photos may be beautiful, they can often seem like clutter. Personal photos and items can get in the way of a buyer visualizing themselves in the space. Try and stage your main rooms with as little personal touches as possible!
4. Try and Stay Neutral: When staging a home, a pop of color can be perfect. But, an overwhelming amount of color can make the space a bit gaudy or personal. Make sure that your color palette is more neutral.
5. Do Your Repairs Ahead of Time: If your paintings or photos have left holes in the wall, now is the time to fix them! A buyer will not appreciate these small details when they are doing a tour of your home.
