Unlike renting, you don’t have a landlord to approve your new paint in the bedroom or the replacement of any outdated appliances. Since you’re the landlord of your own home, you get to make any modifications whenever you want!

Homes are a little more “high maintenance” than renting. You might have to make a few social sacrifices in order to take care of something around the house. While you could hire a handyman, you might not want to spend a ton of money on a simple task. Another thing to consider is that you still might need to be present while they’re there. While changing a lightbulb or an air filter is something you can learn to do yourself, there are those repairs that require a professional.
