Bollywood Steps Brings Bollywood Dance to Encinitas

Now, Encinitas is adding another unique art to its impressive repertoire. The San Diego-based dance company Bollywood Steps is offering classes in Bollywood dance in Encinitas.

The Bollywood dance style is a classic staple of Indian culture that recently hit the mainstream worldwide. The tradition is rooted in the golden era of Bombay’s film industry, from the 1940’s-60’s. Bollywood dance combines elements of traditional Indian dance and the theatrical choreography that characterizes Bollywood films. It is the defining trademark of India’s modern entertainment culture.

Hour long classes take place at the Performing Arts Workshop at 4pm on Sundays. Individual classes cost $15, or $60 for a four-class course. The address is 1465 Encinitas Blvd, Suite A102.
