Why Buy an Encinitas Home During the Holidays?
- Real Estate Tips
- Encinitas Homes, Encinitas real estate agent, holiday house hunting, holiday housing market, homes for sale in encinitas, Linda Bauer Moore
- December 7, 2012
Typically around this time of year those looking for homes for sale in Encinitas put a brake on their house hunting, but really they should be ramping up their search if they want to take advantage of the benefits of holiday house hunting. Those listing homes for sale in Encinitas during the holidays are typically the most dedicated to selling their home and will often make some concessions to buyers in order to get their homes sold.
Since 1988 DataQuick, a leading provider of real estate data, have only seen home sales increase four times from October to November, and notes that in every other year sales have fallen anywhere from 0.2% to 26%. Typically home sales see an increase again beginning in the first week of January. By the end of January buyers have had an opportunity to look at their taxes, recognize their New Year’s resolutions, and take a new mindset and there are twice the number of buyers on the market.
Doubling the number of buyers on the market at a time when inventory on Encinitas homes is low will result in heavier and higher bidding on the homes that are available, but this can be avoided if you make an effort during the month of December to find the home that is right for you and place a bid.
It may seem a bit daunting to add house shopping to your holiday shopping and preparation, especially if you are going out of town for an extended period of time, but you won’t regret the effort you have put in, especially once January rolls around and you face multiple bids on homes and increased prices as a result.
Contact your Encinitas real estate agent Linda Bauer Moore to take advantage of the holiday housing market before it’s too late.
