An Encinitas real estate agent is someone who is truly skilled in examining the Encinitas real estate market and reporting to you, the consumer, the necessary information. It seems that buyer opinions on Encinitas real estate are changing, and this is how.
In a recent survey of prospective buyers conducted by Redfin brokerage, these buyers are convinced that home prices are rising. An additional finding of the survey – which surveyed 982 prospective buyers in 19 separate markets – was that buyers had a growing reluctance to enter into situations involving multiple offers.
Conducted between August 16th and August 22nd, the survey found that as more buyers began attempting to take advantage of record-low mortgage rates and rock-bottom prices on homes they came up against some fierce competition.
The results of the survey showed that about 70% of those surveyed encountered competition on one or more offers. About 3 out of 10 people surveyed stated that if they were faced with competing against multiple offers they would not pursue that home.
Some significant shifts in buyer opinion have been seen in this survey, particularly these findings:
- 61% believe that home prices will increase, which is almost double the number of the percentage seen in the first quarter of 2012.
- 46% of those surveyed believe it is currently a good time to buy a home, while 32% believe it is a good time to sell a home. Respectively in the first quarter of 2012 these numbers were 56% and 13%.
Also released was the National Association of Realtors’ Home Sales Index, which shot up from 99.3 in June to 101.7.
