This year, Coldwell Banker partnered with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society for their Home for Dogs Project and their National Pet Adoption weekend! Rancho Coastal Humane Society has been doing wonderful things regarding displaced pets from Hurricane Harvey.
Tuesday afternoon, a “Wings of Rescue” flight carried 130 cats and dogs into the Circle Air Group at Gillespie Field in El Cajon. It was the second plane load of pets transferred to San Diego to create space for pets being evacuated from Louisiana as a result of Hurricane Harvey. The rescue was a joint effort through the Wings of Rescue, GreaterGood.org, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society, Labradors and Friends Rescue, and San Diego Humane Society.
The President of Rancho Costal Humane Society, Jim Silveira, explained that the pets are indirect victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Like people that have lost their homes as a result of the hurricane, so have these pets. They are all highly adoptable dogs and cats that were lost, strayed, or unfortunately abandoned because of Harvey. These pets need your help! All they want is some love and comfort after dealing with such a stressful situation as being ripped from their homes.
And, for you all, it’s possible to help them! Coldwell Banker’s National Pet Adoption Weekend couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. This Saturday, September 9th, is the adoption event happening at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. From 11AM to 1PM, you can pick up your new friend and give them a brand-new home with love. Located at 389 Requeza St., Encinitas CA, give them a call and visit some of the pets they have in right now! You can begin your process today.
If you are unable to adopt at this time, share this information with someone you know may be looking for a friend. Or, Coldwell Banker has been accepting donations to help the Rancho Coastal Humane Society hold all their pets and care for them. They ask that you bring:
- Easy-walk harness
- Natural Balance dog food logs
- Canned Pedigree dog foods
- Dog toys
- Cat catcher and wand toys
- Unscented clumping cat litter
- Kitten litter boxes
- High-efficiency liquid laundry detergent
- Bleach
- Paper towels
- Surface wipes
- Blankets (non-electric or down)
Coldwell Banker has been collecting items at their location in 740 Garden View Ct., Suite 100 in Encintas CA. They will be collecting until tomorrow, and then any donations after should be brought to the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
