Upcoming Events in Encinitas
- Neighborhoods and News
- February 6, 2017
There will be so great events coming up in Encinitas this February to help us get through the remaining weeks of winter. Spring will be here in no time but until then you may need events to force you to leave the house and get out into nature. Here are some of the events that will be happening over the next few weeks:
Artists’ Reception
February 11th 4 PM – 7 PM
There will be a reception at Off Track Gallery in the Lumberyard Shopping Center honoring three talented San Dieguito Art Guild members: Carla Funk specializing in ceramics, Pat Smart specializing in batiks, and Cheryl DeLain specializing in Jewelry. There will be refreshments served and the event is open and free to the public. All artwork in the gallery will be 10% off all day long.

Love Your Lagoon Run Run
February 12th 9 AM – 11 AM
There will be a run on the trails of the San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center this weekend. The cost for registration is five dollars for members and ten dollars for the public and runners at all levels are welcome. You can choose between a 3-mile run and a 5-mile run that will be led by Doug Gibson, the Conservancy Executive Director/Principal Scientist, who is also an expert trail runner. Doug will also share information about the lagoon before and after the run. When you finish the course, you will get some Valentine treats to sweeten the deal a bit.

5K Paw Walk in the Garden
February 18th 9 AM – 1 PM
The San Diego Botanic Gardens and the Rancho Coastal Humane Society will be joining up again for the 5th annual Paw Walk. The event benefits both organization. Participants will follow a 5k walk through the 37-acre garden with their friends/family and, of course, their dogs. The lovely gardens include California Native Plants, Australia, the Canary Islands, Hawaii, bamboo, tropical fruit, and Palm Canyon.
