More Walk Wednesdays for Encinitas

When the rain lets up in California, you need to get out and explore! A nice long walk with beautiful southern Californian views can do wonders for anyone no matter their mood. Thankfully, the Encinitas’ parks and recreation department has been keeping up with their Walk Wednesdays blog. Do you remember when I shared it with you in February? Well, they have added around ten more walks to their great list and I want to share a few with you today. I am a strong believer that regular walks can boost not only physical health but your general outlook on life. It is of vital importance to be outside to get that vitamin D. Try a few of these but check out the others at the original link:

Moonlight Beach Power Walk

Encinitas’ Arts Administrator Jim Gilliam does a power walk at lunch that covers coastal downtown to Stone Steps and back. The walk takes about forty-five minutes.

Indian Head Canyon

In the Eastern part of the lovely Leucadia, you’ll find amazing views and awesome trails and on a clear day, you can see the Pacific Ocean. There are approximately 6.5 miles of hiking, biking, and walking trails in the canyon.

Escondido Creek Trail

The Escondido creek flows all the way from the hills near Lake Wohlford west to San Elijo Lagoon. This is a fun and more rugged environment for a hike that is just shy of 2.75 miles and runs alongside the creek.

Manchester Preserve

On this beautiful trail, you will encounter lush coastal sage and dramatic steep sandstone walls! Within the preserve, there are approximately four total miles of trails. The flowers will be in bloom very shortly, so it is the best time to go!

Don’t hesitate, get out there and get moving!!
