This weekend will be full of celebrations in Encinitas. Why you ask? Well because 30 years ago the small communities of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leacadia, Olivenhain, Downtown Encinitas, and New Encinitas were all reborn as the official City of Encinitas. The entire town will be traveling back in time to 1986 with three great events going on between October 7th through 9th. The admission is absolutely free to all these events.
Friday, October 7th – “Everybody Cut Footloose” is an 80s themed dance that will be happening at the Encinitas Community Center from 7pm-9pm. All the best 80s hits will be played!
1140 Oakcrest Park Drive
Saturday, October 8th – “American Tale” will be played on the big screen at Leo Mullen Sports Park from 6pm-9pm. Bring blankets and low-backed chairs to enjoy this family classic.
951 Via Cantebria
Sunday, October 9th – There will be an 80s concert with Betamaxx at Moonlight Beach from 3pm-5pm. Make sure to wear your 80s gear!
