Incorporated in 1959, Del Mar remains one of the most beautiful destinations along the North County Coastline. The City of Del Mar has a population of approximately 4,500 and is comprised of two square miles of coastal land with one of the most gorgeous beaches in San Diego offering a place to run, walk, relax, or surf. Powerhouse and Seagrove Parks are popular attractions offering great areas to picnic or visit with friends. North Beach, also called “Dog Beach” by dog lovers, is located just North of 29th street and expands almost one half mile to the border of Solana Beach.
Del Mar offers some of the best local running, fishing, and diving along the coastal bluffs, Torrey Pines State Park, and the backside of Del Mar in Crest Canyon with great vantage points to enjoy the natural surroundings.
